Celebrate Day of the Dead in Swansea This October!
Join us on Saturday, 31st October 2026, as we bring the colorful traditions of Mexico’s Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) to the heart of Swansea!
Organised by Swansea City Council in collaboration with Iberians & Latin Americans in Wales (ILA-WALES CIC), this vibrant family event offers a rich celebration of culture, music, and art.
Whether you want to learn about Mexican heritage or enjoy creative activities with your family, there is something for everyone to discover throughout the afternoon.
What’s on the Schedule?
We have lined up an exciting variety of activities and performances for all ages:
Creative Workshops: Get hands-on and craft your own traditional crafts. Paint a mask, make a colourful floral headdress, or decorate a miniature toy skull to take home.
Live Music & Dance: Experience authentic Mexican melodies performed live by a traditional Mariachi group. You will also enjoy dynamic dance performances by the IberoLatinXpression Heritage Dance Group.
Family Entertainment: Watch a delightful puppet show, get your face painted in classic calavera (sugar skull) designs, and enjoy a day filled with community spirit.
