Project 28: Mastering Gen AI: Digital Skills Workshop with Technocamps

On Friday 20th February, members of ILA WALES CIC gathered at the Grand Multicultural Hub in the Swansea Grand Theatre for an insightful digital training session. This workshop, titled “Gen AI: What is it?”, was the first in a series of digital skills collaborations designed to empower the Ibero-Latino American community in Wales.

 

Exploring the World of Generative AI

Led by the expert team from Swansea University Technocamps, participants delved into the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative Artificial Intelligence. The session focused on how AI can be a powerful tool to:

  • Boost Creativity: Discovering new ways to generate ideas and content.
  • Increase Productivity: Learning how to streamline everyday tasks using AI tools.

 

The workshop also addressed the vital ethical challenges associated with this technology, providing a balanced view of its impact. Attendees engaged in discussions regarding:

  • The risks of misinformation.
  • Understanding and identifying algorithmic bias.

Looking Ahead: Cyber Reconnaissance

The digital journey continues! Following the success of the Gen AI session, the next workshop will shift focus to Cyber Reconnaissance.

Scheduled for Friday 6th March (10 am – 1 pm), this session will explore the tools and concepts used to test computer security, offering a fascinating look into the world of cyber exploration.
