Being part of ILA Wales has been such a positive experience for me. As someone from Mexico, it has given me a place where I feel connected to my Latin culture, welcomed, and inspired. I actively participate in the heritage dance group, where we rehearse every week and perform at different events. I really enjoy the atmosphere, the friendships, and the joy of sharing our traditions through dance. It has helped me feel more confident and proud of my heritage.
Through the group, I have also had the opportunity to lead design and sewing classes, which is something I truly love. Sharing creativity with others and teaching new skills has been very rewarding. These experiences have opened doors for me to collaborate with other organisations and community projects, including making costumes, creating quilts, and leading other workshops. Thanks to ILA Wales, more people have come to know my work and appreciate my skills. The group has helped me grow personally and creatively, and I am very grateful to be part of such a supportive and encouraging community. Best regards.
